How to cute&easy crochet hanging plant pot | room decor tutorial (nature-themed tutorials)

Are you looking for an idea to decorate your room? I’m excited to share this crochet green plant pot idea with you! Green always brings a sense of relaxation, especially when it comes to potted plants. For crochet enthusiasts, creating your own crochet green plant pot to decorate your bedroom is an incredibly creative idea. Bring a touch of nature into your room with this project!

This is the written pattern for my youtube tutorial. I highly recommend watching the video tutorial first for demonstrations so you can accurately follow the pattern. Also, please refer to the helpful timestamps on the youtube video if you’re confused about any part of the pattern!

1. Materials & tools

  • Yarn: Milk cotton (20% Milk Protein – 80% Combed Cotton – 15% others), 125g, (4.37 oz), 220 m (240 yds), one ball in colors 01, 21, 37, 53, 73.
  • Hook: 3mm crochet hook (recommended hooks 2.75 – 3.5 mm).
  • Needle
  • Scissors
  • Glue

1.1 Pattern Notes

  • Skill Level: Intermediate.
  • Written in UK terms.

1.2 Terms & Abbreviations

  • Slst: Slip stitch.
  • Sc: Single crochet.
  • Dc: Double crochet.

BLO: Back loop only.

2. Pattern use ideas

You can hang the plant pot in your study corner, workspace, or in front of a mirror to hold your flower clips.

3. Pattern

Part 1: Pots

Round 1: make a magic ring with 8 sc.

Round 2: 1 sl st in first chain, chain 1, 2 sc in every stitch (total 16 stitch).

Round 3: 1 sc, inc (total 24 stitch).

Round 4: 1 sc, 1 sc, inc (total 32 stitch).

Round 5: 1 sc, 1 sc, 1 sc, inc (total 40 stitch).

Round 6: 1 sc, 1 sc, 1 sc, 1sc, inc (total 48 stitch).

Round 7: 1 sc, 1 sc, 1 sc, 1sc, 1sc, inc (total 56 stitch)

Round 8: BLO 56 sc (total 56 stitch).

Round 9-18: 56 sc.

Round 19: 56 dc in every stitch.

Round 20: 56 sc.

Cut and use a needle to hide the yarn.

Part 2: Land 

Crochet like pots from row 1 – 7.

Use brown yarn about 40cm, sew land into the pot.

Part 3: Big leaf

Make a slip knot and chain 9.

Skip 1: 1sc, 1hdc, 1dc, 2 dc into the same stitch, 1dc, 1hdc, 1sc.

Chain 3, skip last chain, 1s c same stitch, 1hdc, 1dc, 2dc same stitch, 1dc, 1hdc, 1sc.

Chain 2, 7 sl st into the center space , 1 sl st into the last chain.

Chain 10 (the distance between 2 leaves).

Do the same with the 1st leaf again.  

Chain 9, skip 1: 1sc, 1hdc, 1dc, 2dc in the same stitch, 1dc, 1hdc, 1sc.

Chain 3, skip last chain, 1sc same stitch, 1hdc, 1dc, 2dc same stitch, 1dc, 1hdc, 1sc.

Chain 2, 7 sl st in the center space, 1 sl st in last chain.

Repeat until you have the size you want (I made 12 leaves).

You can stack them equally or not, place a marker in the middle holding the branches in place and then sew them into the soil.

Part 4: Small leaf

Skip 1: 1sc, 1hdc, 1dc, 1hdc, 1sc.

Chain 3, skip last chain, 1sc same stitch, 1hdc, 1dc, 1hdc, 1sc.

Chain 2, 5 sl st in the center space, 1 sl st in last chain.

Repeat until you have the size you want.

Part 5: Flowers

Make a slip knot and chain 3, 4 tr into the ring.

Chain 3, 1 sl st into the ring.

Repeat 4 more times.

Pull the tail, chain 1 and cut yarn.

Use yarn to sew or glue it on.
